The man claims the pair had consensual sex, the Australian Associated Press reported. Police found the man at the Sky Garden nightclub and held him for questioning. Denpasar Chief Detective Reinhard Habonaran Nainggolan told reporters: "We're still developing the evidence and facts."
The man has not been declared a suspect, police said, adding that they are gathering evidence from the woman's hotel room. A medical examination has also been requested.
