Actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry is planning to turn his new home in Georgia into a farm after cashing in on the record-breaking sale of his Atlanta mansion.
The Gone Girl star offloaded his city home for $17.5 million (£12.1 million) earlier this month (May16), setting a new record for the highest price ever paid for a private property in Atlanta.
Tyler, who runs his own production studio in the Georgia capital, reveals he has since moved his family into a 17-acre compound, which he plans to fill with animals and grow his own produce.
"I know this sounds ridiculous, but I wanted more land so I bought more land outside of the city," the 45-year-old told E! News of his French Provincial-style estate, which features seven bedrooms, a movie theatre, and swimming pool with a waterfall. "It's the same distance to the studio as my old house, but now I can have horses and pigs and organic vegetables."
The spacious property is a new home for Tyler and his girlfriend Gelila Bekele, who gave birth to their first child, son Aman Tyler Perry, last year .
