Jennifer Aniston's estranged mother has died aged 79. Former actress Nancy Dow passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family after suffering from a long illness.
According to In Touch magazine, Nancy had lost the ability to speak and walk following a series of strokes.
Jennifer and her brother released a statement on Wednesday confirming the sad news.
"It is with great sadness that my brother John and I announce the passing of our Mother Nancy Dow. She was 79 years old and passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends after enduring a long illness. We ask that our family's privacy be respected as we grieve our loss."
The former Friends actress is said to have visited her mother for the first time in five years on May 12.
According to a source; "Jen must have had a wake-up call and wanted to see her mother one last time before she passed on."
Nancy, who didn't get an invite to her daughter's wedding, was rushed to hospital just after midnight on Sunday.
